The Norfolk Community Services Board was founded in 1969 so that Norfolk residents with mental health, mental retardation, and substance addiction problems could be treated in the community where they lived, surrounded by their family and friends. They provide treatment and rehabilitation services to over 6,000 Norfolk residents.
The Norfolk Animal Care Center works with the city of Norfolk's Adult Community Supervision Division to receive volunteers that need to accomplish community service hours. Through the Adult Community Supervision Division we accept community service volunteers that have been background checked along with having no history of violent, sexual, or animal offenses/charges.
