Being a “Baby Boomer”, stepping inside the door of that small Country Store tucked in the foothills of the Green Mountains of Ripton, Vermont brought instant childhood memories front and center. Walking through the “Time Portal” to my left I saw an old fashioned array of postal boxes, to my right was a counter with an kind and gentle soul stooped over with a warm smile. Next to him was an old fashioned crank operated cash register. The decor was similar to what you would see in the old TV show “The Walton’s” at Ike Godsy’s store. Do yourself a favor. Step Back in Time and see for yourself where Time has stood still.

It has all of the conveniences you might need without having to go all the way into town. Best of all, there are some great local pieces to buy-- T-shirt's, ceramic mugs, watercolor prints. I frequently would get a fresh sandwich & some candy as a treat.

The Ripton Country Store gig represents a homecoming for Wisell, who was born and raised in Middlebury. He's a member of the Middlebury Union High School class of 1978.
