I was in the market for homeowners insurance not to many months ago as I was buying a new home and contacted McDonnell Agency for a quote. I was given a quote by KATHY and was told I needed to sign an application for them to pull my information. This application which I have attached below stated right on the last page where you sign, in the disclaimers\' \"This is a quotation only, does not bind any coverage\'s and is subject to underwriting\". All said and done I ended up going with another insurance carrier in which I had to sign a similar application, however had to sign the policy to actually execute it. Come July I received a bill from McDonnell Agency stating I owed hundreds of dollars for this Homeowners policy I had decided not to go with. I called KATHY right away but got no answer, so I in turn emailed KATHY right after, with no reply. I honestly forgotten about it with the move and working on the home all while working my full time job. Well low and behold in September I get a demand letter from McDonnell Agency threatening to send me to collections if I do not pay $160.xx, so I immediately contacted KATHY, who was a very rude elderly sounding lady. KATHY Tom are both very rude people and seem to sign prospective clients up for insurance they do not want to make a quick buck and scare them into paying a cancellation fee with the threat of collections. Well that did not happen with me, because I kept all correspondence between KATHY and myself, and I pointed out the disclaimers on the application. KATHY has threatened to sue me for slander if I wrote any reviews on any forum giving my opinion of her unprofessional demeanor, and lack of knowledge when it comes to contractual agreements. My recommendation would be to stick to the big companies themselves and stay away from these little guys thinking you may catch a deal. In the end it’s just not worth it, may be scared into lining their pockets because they signed you up for a policy you did not want
