(June 23, 2019, 10:37 am)I am really surprised at the negative rating for Smith and DeRose. I have had auto and home insurance with them for about 30 years and have had nothing but positive interactions. I believe that all 3 of my children have required me to file several claims and they have always been handled quickly and professionally. We have had a salt water aquarium accident in the living room and a burst pipe in the basement and we could not have asked for them to be any more accommodating. Earlier this year we had a vehicle that died in our driveway and they completely covered the cost of the tow truck. I recently left Chicago with a dented fender and scraped cowl and they address it immediately. I didn't have to argue or explain anything. I would have no problem recommending them to anybody. They are a small company but that lets them care about their clients more than the big guys.
