Risk Management Association (RMA) is a member-driven organization serving risk professionals at financial institutions with education, products and community.
RMA, or return merchandise authorization, is important for a few reasons. One, the RMA number gives the seller a way to track the type and quantity of product (s) being returned. It's impossible to know how much merchandise was returned if you're just guessing. Two, the RMA process allows customers to check the progress of a returned item.
In th e late 1990s , RMA led the industry in the development of operational risk management. By 2000, we had formally expanded our mission- to advance sound risk management principles to help banks avoid a multitude of potential losses that existed outside of credit risk. We also changed our name from Robert Morris Associates, named for the patriot financier, to the Risk Management Assocation.

The NET RMA is governed by a 21-member board of directors that represent each of the member counties: Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Kaufman, Panola, Rusk, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood.
